In 1964, he received his Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Industrial EducaLon and Business. From there he went on to study at Ball State University to earn his Masters in Industrial EducaLon in 1965.
JC started teaching at Pendleton County High School in Falmouth, Kentucky in 1964 and ended his teaching career at Hillsboro ChrisLan Academy in 2018. In the summers he worked in masonry, carpentry, taught two summer programs at Rio Grande College, and held classes at the correcLonal school in Bainbridge.
He enjoys traveling, learning about history, engaging others in conversaLon, Lnkering with and driving his anLque classic cars. Let’s also include eaLng out with his wife and friends.
He and his wife of 58 years, also a reLred educator, have one daughter Amy, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren who all live in Pennsylvania. Three of them are also school employees - daughter Amy and granddaughter Kyndra drive school vans, working for their boss, Amy’s husband and Kyndra’s dad – twice reLred from the military – who is the transportaLon supervisor.
If JC were asked about a mantra, he would refer to having survived several years in educaLon and married life, cancer, and having recovered from a devastaLng house fire, he would encourage others to push through adversity with God’s help.
If you see him, chances are he will hand you a candy mint.
